Chelsea told the England player on ‘different level’ they should sign ahead of Declan Rice
The interest in Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham has intensified after his performances on the world stage at the World Cup. Bellingham has put in a number of dazzling displays for the Three Lions so far in the tournament and has only added additional millions onto his price tag.
Interest in the all-round midfielder was strong before the tournament kicked-off in November with Chelsea , Liverpool and Manchester United strongly tipped to make a move. However, interested parties now face the prospect of coughing up close to £130million to acquire his services. Bellingham, only 19, has the world at his feet and has the pick of which club to move to . Should he opt to leave Dortmund in January or the summer, the German giants are set to receive a mass profit on the £21million they paid Birmingham City for the then 17-year-old in 2020.
As many people would have seen in Qatar, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been forming a close relationship with the 19-year-old amid intense talk linking him with a move to Liverpool. German journalist Christian Falk confirmed that the Reds were ‘very, very close’ to finalising a deal but Chelsea have been urged to make a move.
Former Cobham academy player Declan Rice has seemed to be a long-term target for the Blues and after his comments whilst in Qatar, a move could cross the line in the summer. However, former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has urged the club to go and beat their rivals to Bellingham’s signature.
“I’m always watching English football, and I’ve seen every England game so far in Qatar,” Ramires said to Caught Offside. “They have so many exciting young players, but Jude Bellingham is the one for me. He’s the one boy who has caught my attention; I believe he’s on a different level altogether.
“Some of the guys that are coming through are incredible, but Jude is on a different level for me. I’ve been so impressed by him. “Bellingham and Declan Rice have both been linked with moves to Chelsea in the past. If it was up to me and I had to choose out of the two to sign for the club, I’d go with Bellingham.
“I could see him carrying on his development at Chelsea, for sure. He’d absolutely be an amazing signing.”
