Jude Bellingham told to snub Arsenal transfer for ‘bigger’ chelsea move

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has labelled two teams as good destinations for Jude Bellingham, leaving Chelsea off the list. The Blues are one of many sides eager to bring in the talented teenager and have been left gazing in awe at his performances in Qatar.

The Englishman started all three group games despite being the youngest player in the squad, the only teenager – aged 19 – and has cemented his place as one of the best in his position. Having left Birmingham for over £20million, the Borussia Dortmund starlet is expected to move on for over five times that amount next summer.

Chelsea, alongside, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester City, are all interested in him, but won’t be able to do a deal until the end of the season, and it will ultimately be the player’s choice. Given the money involved though, Eriksson thinks only a few teams can afford the transfer.

“If he goes to City he’s bound to be a success as long as the owners are as rich as they are,” he told BetWay. “But I can also see him at Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see at the end of the season if he stays in Germany.”

Madrid have a recent history of signing talented midfielders after purchasing Edoardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in the past 18-months, and adding Bellingham wouldn’t be outside of their capabilities. For Chelsea, they require a midfield revamp of their own. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are both out of contract in the summer and Graham Potter may deem other members of his squad to be surplus to requirements.

Declan Rice is a player they also want to add, but Bellingham would be the biggest coup. The Blues fall short of Manchester City and the European champions according to Eriksson though. He added:

“Dortmund is a huge club but Man City and Real Madrid are even bigger.”
